Whether you need headshots for a big audition, or just want some great pictures for fun, I work with you to capture the personality and look that you are seeking. My portrait sessions are very laid-back and I make sure that I take the time to understand the type of shoot you are looking for, plus any other concerns you may have. Once we establish this, then it's just time to relax and have fun!
All portrait sessions are done outdoors in natural lighting, which is best in the mornings or late afternoons, depending on the season.
My shoots are generally done outdoors in Central Park. Depending upon your shoot preference, we might chose a location with an edgier downtown feeling, or a spectacular backdrop like the Brooklyn Bridge, or perhaps you have an area of town that is special to you. Please let me know if you have any particular request for a location elsewhere in Manhattan and I would be happy to accommodate. Areas around the water are beautiful, but also tend to be windy and it can be difficult controlling your hair. Travel outside of Manhattan may incur an extra charge.
Wardrobe! The key is to dress comfortably for you and the weather. For a traditional shoot, clean and simple colors are the most flattering. Try to avoid designs that are too busy and will draw attention away from your face. Groups should dress in similar shades that compliment each other, but do not need to be identical. Alternatively, please let me know if you are looking for a stylized shoot using gowns or other "costuming".
Bring a change of walking shoes if you wish to shoot in multiple locations since we will be getting around by foot. You are welcome to bring different looks with you if you can figure out a way to change decently in public.
After your session, I edit all images and you will receive a photo CD with all originals to keep in about 1-2 weeks. I also provide online hosting of your session photos for 3 months following your shoot, which you can use to send to family and friends. Professional printing services are also available upon request.
